BEEF SOUP RECIPES

French Onion Soup

Heat 4T. butter or cooking oil in a heavy saucepan over  low heat.  Add 1 and-1/2 cups onions sliced about
1" long and 1/8" thick.  Sauté onions about 20 minutes until they are  tender and a rich brown color.  Watch
carefully  so they don't  burn.  Add 4 cups cool water and stir in 1 package FFF Beef Soup Stock Mix.  Add
1oz. sauterne or dry white wine if you wish.  Bring the soup to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer 2-3
minutes.  Gluten-free croutons covered with a slice of provolone cheese may be placed on the bowl of
soup.  Then place it under a broiler for a few seconds  for the cheese to melt and brown.  Serve
immediately with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.  This makes 4 eight ounce servings.
